Piercing on the belly button are more popular and trendy than ever. If you currently have one or if you are thinking about getting one, you should be aware of what is involved. There are also some rules considering when it is and is not appropriate to show off your ring. In addition, if you are thinking about purchasing gold plated belly rings, you should know the basics of gold; what karats actually mean, how gold jewelry is made and what you can expect from pieces of certain karat weight. Being informed of the basics can mean a big difference when it comes time to get the piercing and also when purchasing your rings.

Having your belly button pierced is quite popular. In fact, you would most likely be very surprised who has a belly piercing and you do not know about it! Your boss, your land lady, the older woman you see at the grocery store. Sure, many of use show off our belly rings, but many keep them hidden very easily and they are for the private pleasure of them and their significant other.

When you are ready to have this type of piercing, you should consider what you want to achieve. It will not do you any good to have this if you are trying to emulate models or celebrities who have ultra flat stomach that most of us could not achieve without plastic surgery or extremely luck genes. If you are happy with your body and you feel comfortable, anyone can have this type of piercing. Because it is very easily covered with normal clothing, you can have control over who sees it and who does not see it.

It is recommended to do a bit of research on the place that you wish to visit to have the piercing done. Make sure that they are certified and experienced. Ask the person who will pierce how many times they have done the process and for how many years they have been doing so. Make sure that they place is clean and that you can clearly see that tools are sterilized. If you do not feel comfortable, leave. You can easily find another place.

The procedure is done without any numbing. This is something in which you must grin and bear it! Usually, the prep for the process takes much longer than the actual time it takes to do the piercing. Most often, the actual piercing will be done in less than twenty seconds. The prep can take up to a half hour. At a reputable piercing establishment, an employee should go over your options for what piece you would like to have. The first piece that you have must be made of stainless steel; this is usually your only option and certainly the only safe one! Stainless steel is what is used in medical surgeries and is an element that is normally not rejected by the human body.

After your piercing heals, you may then choose what type of ring or barbell you wish to have. Gold plated belly rings are very popular, as are silver rings or barbells. Many come with gemstones or beads attached and this is a very trendy look.

When deciding whether or not to show your ring, think about it a bit. There is no age limit for cut off tee shirts; however, we all have a basic knowledge of what will be looked at because it is sexy and what will be stared at because it is simply distasteful. If you have a feeling that you should not be wearing shirts that show your ring, you can keep it under your shirt and save the “showing” of it for special moments between you and your lover.

The following article on gemstone belly rings focuses on the possible (though imagined) pairing of such a gem-decorated ring and an insulin pump. Despite that focus, an insulin pump should not be viewed as the only type of medical implant that has a well-recognized association with the region of the belly. A patient with a ventricular peritoneal shunt has a plastic tube within his or her lower abdomen. That tube is prone to infection. That tube would need to be protected from any bacteria that might grow on a ring or barbell that has been stuck into the shunt wearer’s belly.

Can a diabetic with an insulin pump expect to find some matching gemstone belly rings? Should a diabetic with an insulin pump even consider getting a gemstone belly ring? Are there medical reasons why someone with an insulin pump should not arrange to purchase gemstone belly rings?

The person who agrees to wear a belly ring invites the arrival of an infection. In order to reduce the chance of infection, the person with the belly ring must keep the area around the ring as clean as possible. Should that area become infected, the bacteria growing in that region might spread to other parts of the body.

That fact needs to be foremost in the mind a diabetic who would like to have a barbell or a ring in his or her belly. Should the area with the accessorized belly become infected, the bacteria growing in that area might migrate to a nearby region of the body. The bacteria might decide to populate the plastic tubing that carries the pumped insulin.

That possibility should give pause to any diabetic who has thought about having a pierced belly. Moreover, the person with a belly ring needs to keep that ring in his or her belly for 3 to 9 months. Unlike the insulin pump, the gemstone belly ring can not be removed whenever the ring wearer takes a shower or enters a swimming pool.

Because the belly ring can not be removed at those times, the skin around the belly ring can easily come in contact with bacteria. For that reason, any person who has a belly ring needs to apply antiseptic to the region around the ring. That application of an antiseptic should take place at least 3 to 4 times per day.

While cleanliness of a pierced belly can prevent the development of an infection, it can not insure the maintenance of the hole that is supposed to hold a gemstone ring. If someone with a belly ring wants to be sure that his or her “hole in the belly” does not disappear, then the ring wearer needs to give the ring a regular “twist.” Rotation of the belly ring prevents eventual closure of the hole that is meant to hold a ring or a barbell.

A person with a belly ring should consider setting-up some sort of schedule, Such a schedule would set a pre-arranged time for the rotation of a newly acquired belly ring. At first such rotation must take place on a daily basis. A diabetic would need to coordinate that schedule with his or her routine for glucose testing. If the diabetic were to have an insulin pump then he or she might want to coordinate that pump with at least one gemstone belly ring.

A popular form of body enhancement and personal expression is body piercing. In recent years, namely from the early nineties, belly piercing has rocketed in popularity and frequency. It is more common among women and can be done with very little or no social stigma like many other types of body piercing. Like any other body piercing, a belly piercing is not without risk. One of the most common side effects of a belly piercing is scarring known as keloid. Belly piercing will result in no scarring in most people as long as proper precautions are taken during the healing process.

In recent decades, body piercing has increased in popularity among men and women. Aside from ear piercings, navel piercings may just be the second most popular piercing among women in Western cultures. A navel piercing is also known as a belly piercing or belly button piercing. While some men do engage in belly piercing it is much more prevalent among females.

The navel piercing is a fairly new phenomenon. There is very little historical evidence of belly piercings although decorating the area is common for many rituals. This type of piercing has risen to popularity in recent decades. The late eighties and early nineties brought an onslaught of navel and belly piercings, perhaps sped by popular culture and television. It may also be so popular because it is so easy to hide the piercing under clothing. Additionally, this piercing has not suffered social stigma or taboo as much as other piercings such as the tongue, eyebrow, and nose.

A common association with a belly piercing on a woman is that it is sign of rebellion and wildness. It is also considered to be sexy by men and women alike, therefore, another possible reason as to why this particular piercing is so popular.

The typical belly piercing occurs through the skin on the upper rim of the navel. Some people may choose to pierce either side of the navel rim or even the bottom, but this is fairly rare. Even more rare is a true belly piercing in which the person must have an “outie” belly button. A true navel piercing is probably so rare only because a true “outie” belly button is also a rare occurrence.

Generally, a belly piercing will heal quickly and without any issues, however, like any piercing, it is a wound and may undergo rejection by the body or an extended healing time. Because the piercing is constantly in contact with clothing, the healing may be affected. It is important to wear loose clothing, or pants with a low waist during the healing period.

One of the most common problems with a belly piercing is the growth of a keloid. Belly piercing often results in keloids, which are firm, rubber-like lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules that vary in color usually ranging from pink to dark red. A keloid is benign but usually accompanied by itching, pain, and textural changes. There are many treatments for keloids, however none are 100% effective or guaranteed to work. In an effort to avoid keloids in belly piercing it is important to rotate the ring, keep clothing away from the piercing, and to keep it very clean during the healing process.

The medical community has done a rather poor job of warning designated patients about the dangers of infections, whenever such infections occur near an implanted device. Too often patients learn about those dangers only after they have contracted an infection. In view of that fact, it is not surprising that the risks of belly piercing have not received greater emphasis. Infections are, in fact, one of the most preventable dangers associated with belly piercing. The following article details how to better prevent the appearance of an infection in the region around a newly pierced belly.

Peer pressure has forced a number of young people to endure the problems that beset someone who has had a belly piercing. For many young people, the most obvious problems will arise at home. A large number of well-knowing parents frown on belly piercing. A large number of youth complain about their parents’ less than enthusiastic response to the exposure of a pierced belly.

A wise youth takes time to listen to what his or her parents have to say. A wise youth takes time to consider carefully the pros and cons associated with a belly piercing. In other words, a wise youth thinks about whether any of the belly button piercings risks outweigh the supposed benefits of the ability to sport a pierced belly.

The quest for a belly piercing should not take the form of a quick trip to the closest possible piercing facility. The operator of that facility might not qualify as a “professional.” A professional uses only clean and sterile equipment. A professional does not sacrifice cleanliness in order to improve his or her efficiency. Moreover, even a clean facility does not guarantee the attentiveness of the piercing specialist.

The selection of a clean piercing facility does not promise an end to the choices facing an individual in search of a belly piercing. Once pierced, a belly with a hole will close with time, unless an ornament remains in that same hole. The person who has elected to have a belly piercing must select the ornament that will stay in the freshly-pierced belly throughout the 3 to 9 months following the creation of the belly’s “hole.”

Whether one uses a belly button ring or a barbell, one must plan to keep the pierced area clean. That normally requires application of an antiseptic between three to five times every day. In addition, the ornament in the newly-pierced belly must be rotated on a regular basis. Unless one has the willingness to stay with the demands of the healing process, one should not contemplate a belly piercing.

Avoidance of the prescribed steps to a successful healing can spell real trouble. Anyone who tries to hasten the healing process, and who thus abandons the regular cleaning, could confront the problems associated with an infection. An attractive ornament in a pierced belly looses much of its beauty if the skin around it has become red and inflamed.

The above warnings about belly button piercings risks should sound loudest for patients who have a medical device attached to or inside of the body part called the belly. Two main groups of patients would be expected to fall within that segment of high risk cases.
One is patients with an insulin pump. The other is patients with a ventricular-peritoneal shunt.

Body modification, such as belly piercing or tattooing, involves changing the appearance of some part of the body for religious, cultural, spiritual, ornamental, or sexual reasons. Besides ear piercing, belly piercing is one of the more popular forms of piercing, especially among women. Belly button piercing can be viewed as a way to express one’s adventurous side without garnering the social stigma that other forms of piercing such as genital or nipple piercing my cause. Keep in mind that belly piercing can be a risky procedure. This is why it is important to have a professional and experienced practitioner perform the piercing.

Elizabeth was pretty conservation in style and taste. She never wore revealing clothing, always wore simple hairstyles, and rarely wore makeup. She believed that she was an attractive woman and did not feel the need to modify her looks very much. However, she loved all kinds of jewelry and loved finding unique and different pieces as well as more traditional styles of jewelry. She really liked earrings. Because she had never gotten her ears pierced she found it difficult to find earrings that she liked. Although she was not crazy about the idea of piercing any part of her body, she really wanted to expand and update her earring collection so she decided to get her ears pierced.

Elizabeth wondered why people felt the need to pierce parts of their bodies. To satisfy her curiosity, she did some reading about body piercing. She found out that the practice of piercing one’s skin has existed throughout the world since ancient times. Body piercing is just one form of body modification, which involves temporarily or permanently altering a part of the body for religious, cultural, spiritual, ornamental, or sexual reasons.

She knew that in today’s Western culture people pierced various parts of the body. She had often seen ear piercing, nose piercing, eyebrow piercing, and belly piercing. Ear and nose piercing did not seem painful to her. However, the thought of piercing the tongue, eyebrow, genitals and other sensitive parts of the body seemed like torture. She could not imagine why anyone would want to do that. Even a belly piercing seemed pretty brutal to her.

She went to a piercing professional and got her ears pierced. It hurt a little bit, but once her ears were healed she went on an earring-shopping spree. Somehow piercing her ears made Elizabeth feel free and adventurous. So, she decided to get a second piercing in both ears. Then much to her surprise, Elizabeth decided to get a belly piercing. Her friends were absolutely stunned when they heard that she was getting her belly button pierced. But, Elizabeth had decided that she had been way too conventional for far too long, and it was time to loosen up. Of course, being a very careful person Elizabeth did her homework and read about the belly button piercing procedure before she had it done. She wanted to know exactly what was going to happen to her and be able to ask the piercing professional the correct questions.

Elizabeth found out that when having a belly piercing, one does not need to fully undress because only the belly button should be exposed. To perform the procedure, the piercing professional uses a sterilized clamp and needle to make the hole and install the piece of jewelry. An important first step is to thoroughly clean the belly button with an antiseptic. The piercing professional then marks the location for the piercing. Next, a sterilized clamp is connected to the skin above the belly button, and the sterilized needle is carefully pushed through the skin. Lastly, the piercing professional inserts the chosen jewelry into the hole.

Once Elizabeth’s piercing had been completed she diligently followed the instructions that were given to her to properly care for the piercing, ease discomfort, and promote healing.

Getting a belly piercing might sound exciting for those with an intention to make a statement when strolling around on the beach. But what exactly is that statement? Is it perhaps that I enjoy pain or that I am willing to handle anything in order to appear different even if it means suffering a little pain. Trouble is belly piercing if not done correctly can cause all kinds of symptoms and eventually may cause an individual to regret they had never been stung by the idea in the first place. Especially if you are determined to wear jewellery pinned to your body and supposedly want everyone to see it, a belly piercing is not the most obvious place to do so unless you live on a beach.

Belly piercing looks like it could be one of the least attractive locations anyone might consider pinning an object to their body. Just how this odd fashion accessory began is not clear, although piercing has been around for thousands of years belly piercing is relatively new. But why anyone would choose the belly button as a location on the human anatomy more than any other is surprisingly complex. The complexity of belly piercing is not so much to do with accepting the initial pain or irritation that likely occurs but rather the anticipation of being willing to endure the experience of having something pinned to your belly button for the remainder of your life or even for a short term if that is what is proposed.

First thoughts would turn to snagging whatever hangs from the belly piercing on clothing. The thought of a sharp piece of metal pulling unexpectedly on the belly button would make most people cringe at such a thought. Yet even with that awful notion in mind people continue to want a belly piercing. If asked ‘does belly piercings hurt’ the answer should be more than a simple only a little when it’s installed, because the pain must come after when you inadvertently tug on it, or someone else does. How do you jostle through a crowded tube journey without someone accidentally bumping against you and stabbing you with your own belly piercing?

Also does belly button piercings hurt when you’re having sex? Two thrusting bodies with a piece of metal wedged between them, surely it must hurt both whether they’re being particularly active or not? Or is this the actually turn on? Pain with sex perhaps even a shared pain and is that what those who have a belly piercing really want? It is hard to imagine how a pinned belly ornament might work with the sex act because surely it can put the male off his stroke? Every time he thrust he might expect to be stabbed and is that what he really wants? As for the female perhaps the notion that she is hurting the male more than he could ever do to her is a form of stimulation that she derives a heightened orgasm or two or perhaps even three?

On a scale of sexiness which is all part of the deal wearing anything that stands out as different, perhaps belly piercing holds an allure for an elite group of individuals who have a thing about needle work. In Turkey belly dancers sometimes fill their belly button with a small jewel, but this is not pinned to them so that should they ever get amorous with anyone while the jewel is in place it can be popped out. This seems to make more sense as it might be thought a bit of fun popping a jewel out of a belly dancer before getting down to more serious activities. Thing is you couldn’t pop anything out when the ornament is pinned securely to your belly button.
